Iqraa Trust was founded by Albaraka Bank in 1994 as a vehicle for its social investment for those in need irrespective of race, colour or religion. Our focus is on empowering people through education and skills development.

Iqraa Trust believes that co-operative activity and co-ordination with all NGO’s and partnerships with government agencies at all levels, with the corporate sector and individual philanthropists can greatly enhance the achievement of the conference objectives and make a meaningful contribution to pushing back the frontiers of poverty. The conference will be attended by + 250 delegates representing the NGO’s, the corporate sector, academics and individual donors.

The themes for the plenary and breakaway sessions have been chosen to focus on the issues of poverty alleviation and long term sustainable and innovative strategies to address the challenge. The attached detailed programme amplifies this point.
