Donation - R 50 000
Iqraa Trust provided funding of R 50 000 towards the provision of a balanced nutritional program for learners at Christel House.
Christel House began its operations in 2002 in Cape Town. Its main purpose is to address the educational and health-care needs of impoverished children in South Africa. Currently 300 learners at Christel House come from vulnerable communities which are characterized by high unemployment, gang violence and where physical, sexual and emotional abuse is commonplace.
Christel House adopts a holistic educational model that includes a range of social and health services that are aimed at the learners and the community it serves. This includes the provision of a balanced meal and treatment for illnesses or injuries and regular medical, audiometric eye screening and dental check-ups.
