Iqraa Trust SA/SANZAF Establish New Empowerment Fund
The South African National Zakah Fund (SANZAF) and Iqraa Trust SA recently entered into an Agreement of Collaboration, the purpose of which is to implement an Entrepreneurship Development and Empowerment Training Project.
Iqraa Trust Student Loan And Bursary Schemes
In order to promote access to higher education Iqraa Trust introduced "The Iqraa Trust Student Loan and Bursary Schemes" in 1999.
The Iqraa Trust Student Loan Scheme has proved to be highly successful. To date more than 1500 students who would otherwise have been unable to afford it, have been given the opportunity to study at tertiary level at Universities and Colleges.
The Orphans Endowment WAQF Fund
The Orphans Endowment Waqf Fund provides for the needs of an increasing number of orphaned children. With more than 2 million orphans and 1000 people dying daily in South Africa from the aids pandemic, the need for long term initiatives to meet the needs of orphaned children is very urgent.
Medical Project: Islamic Medical Association And Iqraa Trust Community Renal Dialysis Centre
Iqraa Trust has provided R600 000 as lead funding for the establishment of the Community Renal Dialysis Centre, which is a first for Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Launch Of Unique Educational Support Program
Iqraa Trust is providing R 1,2 million over three years to finance the Educational Support Program in partnership with eThekwini Municipality. The Education Support Program was launched officially by the mayor of eThekwini Councillor Obed Mlaba on Monday, 31 March 2008.
