Featured Project : ESTABLISHMENT OF ANTI-RETROVIRAL TREATMENT CLINIC RETREAT

Iqraa Trust has made the establishment of an Anti-Retroviral Clinic at the Retreat Community Hospital in Cape Town possible. The Clinic was handed over to the Minister of Health in the Western Cape in June 2008.

Working with the S A Medical Foundation, Iqraa Trust provided R 250 000 in funding for the provision of a facility to house an Anti Retro Viral Treatment Clinic at the Retreat Community Hospital in Cape Town.

Iqraa Trust was responding to a very urgent need for separate facilities for patients seeking counselling, advice and treatment for HIV-related ailments. Previously patients had to wait in long queues with other patients in very uncomfortable and poorly ventilated conditions therefore exposing them to the risk of contracting serious diseases such as tuberculosis as a result of cross infection.
