ST LUKES HOSPICE – R 39 000
St Lukes Combined Hospice was established some 27 years ago and provides palliative care for terminally ill patients(including HIV and AIDS patients through its 12 hospices and 15 branches.
St Lukes Hospice has extended its operations to the disadvantaged predominantly Black areas in South Africa.The Hospice treated some2068 patients.admitted 815 to its wards and a further 53 492 patients visited the Hospice and its branches.
In recognition of of the growing need for home-based care for the terminally ill the Hospice has launched a program to train more caregivers who can provide home-based care.
Iqraa Trust is providing funding in the amount of R 39 000 to fund the training of an additional 12 home-based caregivers.
