Iqraa Trust Donates R200 000 to the International Peace College of South Africa towards computer and electronic equipment  

The International Peace College of South Africa is an institution of Higher Learning, registered with the Department of Higher Education, which offers educational programmes in Islamic studies that are contemporary, current and relevant to addressing the individual, community and social challenges at a personal, temporal and spiritual level.

Iqraa Trust has, over the years, donated a total of R520 000 to One Voice SA.

OneVoice SA is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal some of their activities are: The Upskilling Volunteers and Community Engagement Project which focuses on preparing TVET College students for the workplace by providing graduates with work-place preparedness training prior to finding employment- and helping them approach and link with host employers.

Iqraa Trust Donates R130 000 to Stanger Heights Primary School towards the construction of a borehole.

Stanger Heights Primary School is situated in KwaDukuza, Stanger and has been in existence for 34 years. The school is made up of 1400 learners from grades R to 7 and has about 30 staff. Due to old aging infrastructure, water shortages and high municipality water bills, the schools water supply was cut off and the school was forced to close down for three weeks. That was 3 weeks loss of learning.

Iqraa Trust Donates R150 000 towards the establishment of a computer centre at Durban South Primary School

Durban South Primary School located in Clairwood, Kwa Zulu Natal is a dynamic community-based school that works closely together with parents, community members and educators to empower and encourage learners to become successful. The school services the areas of Umlazi, Lammontville and Montclair.

Iqraa Trust Donates R200 000 towards the construction of a multi purpose court at Dr. Yusuf Dadoo Primary School

Dr. Yusuf Dadoo Primary School is located in Azaadville, Gauteng. The school provides basic education to predominately African learners from the community of Azaadville.

Iqraa Trust has, over the years, donated a total of R400 000 towards the Centre for the Advancement of Science and Mathematics Education Trust (CASME)

CASME is located in the Pinetown District of Kwa Zulu Natal. The Pinetown Education District encompasses areas such as Hammarsdale, Tongaat, Mariann hill, Tshelinyama, Molweni, Clermont, KwaMashu, Inanda and Ntuzuma.

Charles Hugo Primary School is situated in Sydenham, Kwa-Zulu Natal. The school services the areas of Umlazi, Kwa-Mashu, Chesterville, Inanda, Kwa-Debeka, Cator Manor and has a learner population of 1343. The school provides Primary education to learners from impoverished backgrounds, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to meet the challenges of our young democracy.

The School is located in Inanda which is hard to reach rural settlement.

Majority of the learners are indigent and from disadvantaged backgrounds thus making access to education fundamental to improve their lives and break the chain of poverty.

Suleman Patel Secondary School is located in Ekukhanyeni area, this is the deeper side of Inanda next to Ndwedwe, which is a hard to reach rural settlement.

Iqraa Trust Donates R100 000 to Hawkstone Primary School towards the installation of new ablutions for the School

Hawkstone Primary is a rural school in Karkloof near Howick, KwaZulu Natal. It is a no-fee paying school and has been educating farm workers children since the 50s, and caters for about 80 learners from Grade RR to Gr 7.

Iqraa Trust has, over the years,donated a total of R648 000 to the Environment and Language Education Trust (ELET) towards their Parenting Skills Program and the purchase of furniture and computer equipment

ELET based in Durban, created a project that is designed to support and develop positive parenting and focuses on developing the capacity of parents to act in the best interest of their children by strengthening positive relationships within families, improving the caregiving capacity of parents and using non-violent forms of discipline.

Iqraa Trust Donates R100 000 to Hartley Road Primary School towards the purchase of  computer equipment for the School

The school is located in Berea, Kwa-Zulu Natal, the school provides quality education to the learners, and it also accommodates learners from Grade R to Grade 7. The school has a learner roll of approximately 1000 learners and 42 educators within the school.

Iqraa Trust has, over the years,donated a total of R366 700 to the Al Azhar Institute of Paarl

Al-Azhar Institute of Paarl is situated in the Western Cape and was established in 1997. The school provides a vital service to learners from the lower income group and has 228 learners enrolled from Grade 0 to Grade 12.

Iqraa Trust has, over the years, donated a total of R320 000 to Hunt Road Secondary School for a Science Laboratory

In a cheerful function at the Hunt Road Secondary School, Iqraa Trust has handed over a science laboratory which was installed in a renovated classroom with all equipment. Dr. Mahmoud Youssef Baker, the Chairman of Iqraa Trust, addressed the students and staff of the school.

Program on Sustainable Development with Regent Business School

 As scores of Grade 12 learners across South Africa brace themselves for their final examinations, REGENT Business School (RBS) together with IQRAA Trust held a series of workshops for matriculants from various schools in the greater Durban area.

Iqraa Trust has donated R 100 000 to Cape Peninsula University of Technology towards the establishment of a Community Food Garden programme. It has now been implemented in four rural disadvantaged communities as seen in the pictures to assist students and community members with farming practices as well as helping them to grow their own crop.

The enlighten Education Trust Centre is located in Hurmanus on the South Coast of the Western Cape. The organization run a wide range of projects aimed at improving various aspects of education in the disadvantaged communities.

Schools are often faced with the challenge of providing learners with the resources required for reading and writing. Most schools don’t have proper classrooms and to expect libraries would be a luxury that many schools cannot afford. Iqraa Trust provided 10 schools in the areas of Phoenix, Chatsworth, Umlazi and Inanda with a mobile trolley library facility.

St Thomas Home for the Children is located in Sydenham, Durban. The home provides residential care to children between the ages of 2-10 who have been abandoned by their parents or referred by the courts. The Home seeks to uplift the quality of life for these children by providing them with ECD programs and Primary education.

An-Nur Islamic Centre located in Ottery, Western Cape provides accommodation, education, training, daily meals, clothing, Islamic education, capacity building and other extra mural activities to orphaned learners. The learners come from various parts of the country, majority of which are orphans, and many come from dysfunctional homes.

Iqraa Trust has contributed R100 000 towards the implementation of the Ubuntu Education Fund’s programme. Ubuntu Education Fund operates out of the Ubuntu Centre, a 25,000 square-foot state of the art complex in the heart of Zwide Township, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The Organisation is rooted in the community and plans to remain that way.

Iqraa Trust has provided a grant totalling R50 000 towards the acquisition of computer equipment for Beacon Ridge Primary School’s Computer Centre.
The School provides education to approximately 550 learners from the impoverished Welbedacht East.

Ihsaan Boys College is located in Chatsworth, KwaZulu Natal. The School is a co-educational, faith based Independent school that is established as a center of excellence, committed to providing holistic education in an environment which is infused with Islamic values. Iqraa Trust donated R90 000 towards the purchase of Maths and Science Textbooks for learners in Grades 7 to 12.

SAILI based in the Western Cape uses scholarships to improve access to better quality schooling for economically disadvantaged families. SAILI guides talented students into effective schools with strong Maths and Science performance.

The school is located at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital, Johannesburg. It provides specialised education for Autistic learners. The school has over 100 pupils from Grades R to 12, aged 3 to 21 years old to complete their schooling, in line with the national curriculum.

VERULAM ISLAMIC SCHOOL.jpg

Iqraa Trust has provided a grant of R 100 000 to enable the Verulam Islamic School to upgrade all the furniture and equipment needed by the School to assist the underprivileged kids. The Verulam Islamic School is a combined school (Primary and High School) catering for pupils from grade R to 12.
