The Aryan Benevolent Home based in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal offers care and shelter to over 600 people which include aged and frail, victims of violence and abuse, children in need and the mentally and physically challenged.

Iqraa Trust Donates R220 000 to the World Assembly of Muslim Youth towards a computer centre

The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) based in Durban, KwaZulu Natal provides a home and schooling for girls from impoverished backgrounds. WAMY also aims at enhancing the livelihoods, capability and participation of communities through provision of support-systems, programmes and resources to develop the skills and capacity of youth and provide them access to information, education and services.

Iqraa Trust Donates R200 000 to St. Philomena’s Community Development Centre towards renovations to its building

St Philomena’s, a non-profit organization based in Durban, KwaZulu Natal provides a safe and nurturing home for orphaned and vulnerable children. The organisation has been in existence for 126 years and is home to 36 girls between the ages of 6 to 18. Their primary service is to respond to poverty, child abuse, dysfunctional family life and trauma.

Iqraa Trust has, over the years, donated a total of R320 000 to ST Monica’s Children’s Home

St Monica’s Children’s Home is a non-profit organisation based in Bluff, Kwa Zulu Natal. The Home provides a loving and safe environment for the children in their care through development programs, education, healthcare, and social interaction.

 

Iqraa Trust made a donation to the Home towards repairs and renovations for the Home, the construction of a cold-room and its most recent donation being R100 000 towards the purchase of a vehicle to transport the children to and from school.

Iqraa Trust Donates R100 000 to Siyavuna Abalimi Development Centre towards their operating expenses 

Siyavuna Abalimi Development Centre is a non-profit organisation based in Margate, Kwa Zulu Natal which assists rural farmers through skills and enterprise development advocating farming methods that are resilient to climate change.

They enable farmers to connect to economical and sustainable markets by selling organic fresh produce for the dried vegetable and bulbine markets and try to mitigate food insecurity and support job creation by enabling farmers to sell and produce to the local Kumnandi brand.

Iqraa Trust Donated R200 000 To iThemba Lethu towards the purchase of a vehicle.

iThemba Lethu is based in Manor Gardens, Durban, KwaZulu Natal and works with the adjacent Cato Manor Community. Some of the Organisation’s activities are: The Family Integration Programme, iThemba Lethu has two homes that care for up to twelve orphaned/abandoned children and facilitate their reunification/adoption into healthy, sustainable families; The HIV Prevention Programme where they actively work in six schools in Durban, with behavioural change and education interventions.

Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) is a registered non-profit and public benefit organization specializing in the full-time care, rehabilitation and support of vulnerable, abandoned and abused children within KwaZulu Natal.

The organization aims to preserve and strengthen families so that they can provide a suitable environment for the physical, spiritual, emotional and social development of all their members.

The James House Child and Youth Care Centre is based in Hout Bay, Cape Town. The organization partakes in direct community-based support including distributing food parcels, masks, sanitizers etc.

Siyabonga is situated on a small holding belonging to the organization just outside Vredenburg and focuses on children from vulnerable homes, children with disabilities, and they also care for young people and adults with mental and physical disabilities.

The Tshwane place of Safety operates 5 specialized care nurseries (high care units) as well as a Haven and Intensive Care Unit for children with severe special needs. Ekhaya Lethemba is the only facility in Pietermaritzburg area that provides 24 hour emergency care for vulnerable children. It is also utilized by the SA Police Service and Department of Social Development for afterhours crisis care.

Iqraa Trust Donates R200 000 to Careline Crisis and Trauma Centre towards the establishment of a computer centre

Careline Crisis and Trauma Centre is located in Hillcrest, Durban. The organization assist the survivors of crime, domestic violence and drug abuse. Careline offers both outpatient and after care programmes for clients, this includes individual counselling, group therapy, and random drug testing and there is no fee attached to these services.

The Homestead’s mission is to help street children reconstruct their shattered lives and to provide early intervention services to children at risk in disadvantaged communities. The aim is to prevent children ending up on the streets and where this fails to re-integrate children into society or provide residential care.
